Abstract:To establish an ideal animal experiment model of vinorelbine-induced extravasation injury to study effects of Fumai Paste on VEGF of tissue,and explore the curative effect and mechanism of treating chemotherapeutic phlebitis with external application of Fumai Paste.Methods:Forty-two rats were randomly divided into two groups with 21 rats in each group.Each rat was established to experimental model.Rats in Fumai Paste group were treated with external application of Fumai Paste on left side; and rats in magnesium sulfate groiup were treated with hydropathic compress of 50% magnesium sulfate on left side.The right side of rats in both groups were treated with hydropathic compress of normal saline.Three rats were selected randomly from each group on day 1,day 4,day 7,day 11,day 14 and day 18,and the skin and subcutaneous tissue of extravasation injury of each rat was cut off.All specimens were fixed in formalin,dehydrated,embedded in paraffin and serially cut.All specimens were observed expressions of VEGF under the electron microscope by immunohistochemical assay and image analysis method.Results:The positive expression of VEGF was major in epidermic cells,vascular endothelial cell,endochylema of hair follicle cells,macrophage,endochylema of fibroblast.Fumai Paste could stimulate the positive expression of VEGF tissue of animal experiment model with vinorelbine-induced extravasation injury more than 50% magnesium sulfate and normal saline (P<0.01).Conclusion:Fumai Paste can up-regulate the expression of VEGF tissue of animal experiment model with vinorelbine-induced extravasation injury.With the biological function of VEGF,Fumai Paste can accelerate the healing of the damaged tissues.Hence,chemotherapeutic phlebitis can be prevented and treated with external application of Fumai Paste.
