Abstract:To evaluate the effectiveness of Chinese Materia Medica combined with canalith repositioning maneuver in treating benign paroxysmal positional vertigo ( BPPV).Methods:Databases including Pubmed, Embase, Cochrane Library and CBM were searched to collect case control studies on Chinese Materia Medica for benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. Quality evaluation and meta-analysis by using Stata12.0 were performed. Results:A total of 8 grade-CRCTs including 648 cases were gathered. The results showed that the Chinese Materia Medica combined with canalith repositioning maneuver group was better than the only canalith repositioning maneuver group;P=<0.05, RR[95% CI]=1.12[1.05,1.19].Conclusion:Based on current evidence, compared with canalith repositioning maneuver,Chinese Materia Medica combined with canalith repositioning maneuver is better and safer for BPPV.
