Coronary heart disease and hypertension are common diseases of cardiovascular disease. Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) believes that coronary heart disease belongs to thoracic obstruction and cardiodynia, hypertension belongs to vertigo or cephalea, and liver failure catharsis leaded by emotional factors is the main cause. To sum up, the main syndromes are exuberant fire in heart and liver, stasis of the heart and liver, heart and liver blood deficiency, phlegm obstruction, yin deficiency of liver and kidney, so coronary heart disease complicated with hypertension disease and liver are closely related. Treating coronary heart disease combined with hypertension by regulating liver has been already recorded in ancient and modern literature. This paper summarized the pathological basis of the treatment of coronary heart disease with hypertension and the type of syndrome differentiation so as to provide theory basis and reference for clinical treatment.
