Abstract:To research the clinical effect of Da-cheng-qi Decoction in improving the gastrointestinal function and immune function in patients with Acute Gastrointestinal Injury (AGI).Methods:Sixty-nine patients were randomly divided into control group and treatment group. Forty patients in the control group received only conventional therapy and 29 patients in the treatment group were treated with Da-cheng-qi Decoction via oral-taking or enema combined with conventional therapy. Results:After 2-week treatment, the recovery of gastrointestinal function was significantly different between the two groups, while that of the observation group was more rapidly (P<0.01). Compared with the control group, the APACHE Ⅱ score of the treatment group significantly decreased (P<0.01). The percentages of CD3+, CD4+, CD4+/CD8+ and NK cells in the treatment group increased and the CD8+ cells reduced more obviously than that of the control group, which showed statistically significant difference (P<0.01). the counts of leukocytes, procalcitonin and IL-6 were significantly improved in the traditional Chinese medicine group, compared with that of the control group (P<0.01).Conclusion:Purgative method represented by Da-cheng-qi Decoction may promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function and immune function, which has good clinical effect on patients with AGI.
