To study the effect of General Pain Stasis-Expelling Decoction combining magneto-caloric therapeutic apparatus(MTA)in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation of blood stasis and qi stagnation syndrome.Methods:During 2015 January to February in Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital Shunyi Branch，64 inpatients diagnosed as lumbar disc herniation of blood stasis and qi stagnation syndrome were randomly divided into treatment group and control group，32 patients in each group.Patients in control group were treated by MTA.Others were given General Pain Stasis-Expelling Decoction in addition to MTA in treatment group.The decoction was modified in accordance with syndromes.In order to make comparison on treatment excellent rate and overall response rate between two groups，JOA scores before and after treatment were calculated according to Japanese JOA low back pain scoring matrix.Results:After one course of treatment，the overall response rate was 96.875% in treatment group and 81.25% in control group，which was statistically significant asP<0.05.The excellent rate was 90.625% in treatment group and 51.125% in control group，which was statistically significant asP<0.05.Conclusion:General Pain Stasis-Expelling Decoction combining MTA should be promoted in front line for it’s significant clinical effect in the treatment of blood stasis and qi stagnation syndrome lumbar disc herniation.
