Collect type 2 diabetes patients combining with thickening of carotid intima media from Endocrinology Department of Guang’anmen Hospital dating from January 2011 to December 2012. To study whether the thickening of carotid intima media of patients with diabetes was related with basic information of patients, courses of disease, smoking and alcohol consumption. Methods: The basic information such as age and gender of 1625 cases was analyzed with descriptive statistical method. The count data was analyzed with chi-s quare test while the measurement data with independent sample T test. Compare the difference between patients with or without thickening of carotid intima media in the factors of age, gender, courses of disease and living habits, etc. Conclusion: The risk factors of diabetes combining thickening of carotid intima media were including age, gender, courses of disease and weight body mass index (BMI).
