To systematically review the clinical efficacy and security of Longdan Xiegan decoction for herpes simplex keratitis.Methods:Retrieve the CNKI, Wan Fang Data and VIP database from foundation point to May, 2015 about Longdan Xiegan decoction in treating herpes simplex keratitis of randomized or semi-randomized controlled trials. Eligible studies were included, then the methodological quality of inclusive trails was assessed by Meta-analysis, funnel plot analysis, and heterogeneity test were adopted to analyze data by RevMan5.3 software.Results:A total of 12 trials of Meta analysis showed that the total efficiency value RR and 95% confidence interval value were1.25(1.14,1.37), course compared value RR and 95% confidence interval value were 1.74［1.37, 2.21］, compare of therapy time value were MD(95%CI)=-2.61(-3.45,-1.77).Conclusion:Compare Longdan Xiegan decoction and basic therapy with western medicine in treating herpes simplex keratitis, herbal medicine have the high curative effect, can improve the symptoms and signs, reduce recurrence cases and shorten cure time. It has obvious advantages, but the low quality of clinical research and happen partiality would influence reliability of the systematic review conclusion.
