To supply the scientific data for the choice of medicinal plants' suitable habitat through ananlyzing the approriate producing area of Citri Grandis Exocarpium growth by mean of GMPGIS.Methods:We seleceted 95 distribution in the traditional growing areas as the targets for the study,some key factors related to plant growth such as temperatures,relative humidity,illumination intensity,annual precipitation，and soil type were chosen from GMPGIS database,using GMPGIS(Global Gegoraphic Information System for Medicinal Plant)to analyze the areas desirable for growing Citri Grandis Exocarpium.Results:Analysis result showed that the potential areas desirable for growing in the tropical regions and subtropical regions around the world.The total area is 2 100 823.02 km2.Conclusion:The GMPGIS is much valuable to sort out the appropriate growing area for Citri Grandis Exocarpium，it also provides scientific reference for transplanting and cultivation of Citri Grandis Exocarpium.
