To evaluate the clinical curative effect and safety of painless acupoint embedding therapy in simple obesity. Methods:All 66 patients were randomly divided into a painless acupoint embedding therapy group and an acupuncture group. Patients of the painless acupoint embedding therapy group were treated once in 4 weeks, and patients of the acupuncture group twice. The patients’ weight, BMI, appetite, urine and stool before and after the treatment were observed. Results:1） All patients’weight and BMI were reduced (P<0.01). 2）The curative effect of painless acupoint embedding therapy group was better than that of the acupuncture group(P<0.01). 3）Patients’ appetite was reduced in both groups(P<0.01).The change of weight and BMI was related to the decrease of appetite(P<0.05). Conclusion:Painless acupoint embedding therapy has obvious curative effect in simple obesity. It can decrease weight and BMI, reduce appetite and the risk of infection. Painless acupoint embedding therapy deserves further research and clinical application.
