To retrospectively analyze the clinical present status of Chinese medicine in the treatment of male osteoporosis (MOP) through searching the relevant literatures recorded in PubMed and Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure database.Among the clinical studies of Chinese medicine treatment for MOP,Chinese listed medicine including Xianling Gubao Capsules,Liuwei Dihuang Pills,Huoxue Tongmai Capsules were used.And clinical experiential formulas including Migu Tablets,Bushen Zhuanggu Granules,Bushen Huoxue Capsules and Gukang Capsules were also applied in the clinical practice.On the basis of the current literatures,nourishing liver and kidney,tonifying qi and activating blood were the basic therapeutic principle of MOP.Large sample,prospective,placebo-controlled clinical trial should be conducted in the future research.In addition,more attention should be paid to the evidence of safety and health economics.
