To explore the acupuncture combined with psychological intervention in the treatment of the liver and kidney deficiency syndrome of rheumatoid arthritis(RA)and its effects on patients' negative emotion.Methods:A total of 120 cases of RA patients treated in First Affiliated Hospital of Army Medical University from October 2016 to February 2018 were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group，with 60 cases in each group.The control group was treated with leflunomide tablets and methotrexate tablets，and the observation group was treated with acupuncture at the same time.The 2 groups were given psychological intervention for 4 weeks continuously.The clinical signs changes of the 2 groups before and after treatment were observed and recorded.The serum RA indexes and inflammatory factors levels were detected，and the improvement of anxiety and depression were evaluated.Results:The time of morning stiffness of the 2 groups after treatment were shortened compared with before treatment，and the treatment group was shorter than that of the control group(P<001).The number of pain joints and the number of swollen joints in the 2 groups were smaller than those before treatment，and the treatment group was less than the control group(P<001).The grip strength of the 2 groups was significantly higher than that before treatment，and the treatment group was higher than the control group(P<005 or P<001).After treatment，serum RF，CCP antibody，CRP，ESR and TNF-α levels in the 2 groups decreased compared with those before treatment，and the treatment group was lower than that in the control group(P<001).The serum TGF-β1 level in the 2 groups increased compared with that before treatment，and the treatment group was higher than that in the control group(P<001).After treatment，the scores of HAMA and HAMD in the 2 groups were decreased than those before treatment，and the treatment group was lower than the control group(P<001).Conclusion:Acupuncture combined with psychological intervention can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of RA patients with liver and kidney deficiency syndrome，reduce the RA indexes and the inflammatory factors levels，and improve the anxiety and depression of the patients.
