To analyze the relationship between the mild，moderate and severe fatty liver and the TCM syndromes.Methods:The database of CNKI，VIP，Wanfang Data，CBM were retrieved.Meta-analysis was conducted with R-3.5.1 software having rate and 95% confidence interval(CI)as effect size.Results A total of 12 observation studies were included，involving 3 379 total sample cases.Meta-analysis showed that in syndrome of stagnation of liver qi and spleen deficiency type，the mild was higher than moderate or severe; Among the syndrome of internal retention of damp-heat，mild was higher than moderate or severe; Among the syndrome of intermin-gled phlegm and blood stasis，severe was higher than mild and moderate; There was no statistical difference in the syndrome of deficiency of both liver and kidney type.Conclusion:Based on current evidence，light fatty liver was the stagnation and blockade of phlegm-damp type and internal retention of damp-heat type，and the moderate fatty liver was syndrome of stagnation and blockade of phlegm-damp type.Severe fatty liver was mainly the syndrome of intermin-gled phlegm and the syndrome of blood stasis type and syndrome of deficiency of both liver and kidney type，with no statistical difference.
