To explore the effects and mechanism of Duhuozhitang Decoction combined with acupuncture on patients with lumbar disc herniation.Methods:A retrospective analysis was performed on 98 patients with lumbar disc herniation who were treated in Shanwei Orthopaedic Hospital from January 2016 to January 2018.The patients were divided into 2 groups according to the different treatment methods.The control group was treated with conventional Western medicine and Duhuo Jisheng Decoction,and 49 cases in the observation group was treated with acupuncture based on the control group.The curative effects,serum pain substances,inflammatory factors and oxidative stress were compared between the 2 groups.Results:The effective rate of the control group was 83.67%,which was significantly higher than that of the observation group(95.91%)(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of substance P,neuropeptide and nerve growth factor decreased significantly in both groups,but the decrease was more obvious in the observation group(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of interleukin-1β,interleukin-6 and hypersensitive C-reactive protein in the 2 groups were decreased significantly,but the decrease in the observation group was more obvious(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of superoxide dismutase and glutathione in both groups were significantly increased,but those in the observation group increased significantly.The levels of serum malondialdehyde were significantly decreased,but in the observation group,those were significantly increased(P<0.05).Conclusion:Duhuo Jisheng Decoction combined with acupuncture can significantly improve the curative effects of patients with lumbar disc herniation,reduce the levels of pain substances and inflammatory factors in serum,and improve oxidative stress response.
