Postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) is the leading cause of maternal death，and Yimucao Injection (YMC-I) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) Injection for preventing and treating PPH with rich clinical research and application.This paper is based on the team's understanding of PPH and the research achievements and application experience of YMC-I for the prevention and treatment of PPH.Combined with the research results of domestic counterparts over the past 3 years，the therapeutic effects of YMC-I on PPH is discussed.It is found that for different types of childbirth，YMC-I combined with Western medicine can effectively reduce blood loss，lower the risk of PPH as well as adverse events.However，high-quality randomized clinical trials will be needed to give more powerful evidence，and and to form application consensus，which is worthy of being promoted.
