Apoplexy，which is called stroke in modern medicine，is the leading cause of death for Chinese citizens.Traditional Chinese medicine has a long history of understanding stroke and has formed its unique diagnosis and treatment system.The symptoms of fu-viscera excess and constipation in patients with acute stroke are common，and the fu-viscera excess changes with the change of the disease.In recent years，the role of Tongfu method in the acute stage of stroke has been increasingly paid attention to.This paper summarizes the research progress of Tongfu method in the treatment of acute stage of stroke，which intends to provide a reliable theoretical basis for the treatment of stroke in acute stage by Tongfu method.
