Acute Lung Injury or Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ALI/ARDS) are the fatal complications of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in 2019.Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has its special advantages in the treatment of ALI/ARDS.The progress of diagnosis and treatment of TCM for acute lung injury and acute respiratory distress syndrome based on literature mining technology was summarized.Methods:Relevant literature on oral or nasal feeding TCM for acute lung injury and acute respiratory distress syndrome in the Chinese and English databases were collected，and the etiology，syndrome type，prescription，TCM，effect indicators and other information in the literature were entered to establish the database after standardizing the language using Excel.The frequency statistical analysis of the etiology，syndrome type，prescription，and TCM was carried out and SPSS Clementine12.0 software was used to analyze the association rules between syndrome type and TCM，and TCM.The data obtained was displayed on the network with Cytoscape.Results:A total of 147 Chinese documents and 1 English document were included.The 5 most frequent causes were trauma，severe pneumonia，sepsis，severe acute pancreatitis，and abdominal infection.The syndrome types were mostly the syndrome of intestinal fever and fu-viscera excess，phlegm-heat obstructing lung，syndrome of heat and toxin congestion and stagnation，syndrome of blood stasis，and syndrome of excess of Yangming fu-viscera excess.The main treatments were Xuanbai Chengqi Decoction，Dachengqi Decoction，and Liangge Powder.The high-frequency TCM were Radix et Rhizoma Rhei，Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis，Fructus Aurantii Immaturus，Fructus Gardeniae，Natrii Sulfas，Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma，Radix Scutellariae，Semen Armeniacsa Amarum，and different medication rules were for different syndrome.Conclusion:According to the results of the data mining，this paper systematically analyzes the diagnosis and treatment rules of TCM in the treatment of acute lung injury and acute respiratory distress syndrome，and provides reference for clinical and scientific research.
