Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is an endocrine disorder syndrome with reproductive dysfunction and abnormal glucose metabolism.It is at present the endocrine system disease with high incidence rate of young and middle-aged women,and this disease can be induced by many factors,causing hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian function axis disorder.It is the main inducement of irregular menstruation and infertility and other diseases in women of childbearing age.In this paper,the background and significance of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) research are elaborated,and the progress of modern medicine research and TCM research on PCOS,and Chinese and Western medicine treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome are listed.
