To determine the effects of packaging on the stability of Radix Notoginseng powder and cooked Radix Notoginseng powder by investigating the changes of appearance, water content and effective component. Methods:In the constant temperature and humidity box,the accelerated test was carried out on Radix Notoginseng powder and cooked Radix Notoginseng powder. In 0,1,2,3 and 6 months, the appearance character and water content of Radix Notoginseng Powder and cooked Radix Notoginseng Powder were investigated. At the same time, the content of saponins was used as the detection index, and the content of saponins in Radix Notoginseng Decoction pieces was detected and statistically analyzed by the high-performance liquid chromatography established in the earlier stage of our research group. Results:After 6 months of accelerated test,no mildew, moth and other phenomenon were observed in all samples. The appearance of the samples was basically the same. The water content increased, but still met the requirements of Chinese Pharmacopoeia(2015 version)(water content ≤ 14%).The sum of Ginsenoside Rg1,Rb1 and R1 in Radix Notoginseng Powder and the sum of ginsenoside Rk1 and Rh4 in cooked Radix Notoginseng Powder were not significantly reduced.Vacuum and non-vacuum packaging have little effects on the content of effective components, but have a significant effect on the hygroscopicity. Conclusion:The food grade aluminum-plastic composite film made of PTE / PE is an ideal packaging material, which can ensure the stability of the quality of Radix Notoginseng and cooked Radix Notoginseng.Vacuum packaging can significantly reduce the moisture absorption of the sample.
