To explore the clinical efficacy of Bushen Huoxue Formula on cognitive impairment for patients with breast cancer.Methods:A total of 72 patients with breast cancer of different cognitive degree admitted to Beijing Chinese Medicine Hospital,Capital Medical University,were randomly divided into an observation group and a control with 36 cases in each group.The control group was given placebo while the treatment group was treated mainly with the method of tonifying the kidney and activating blood circulation formulas.Both groups were treated 2 times a day for 6weeks.Cognitive function(Montreal scale,FACT scale),the quality of life and TCM symptom score of the 2 groups before and after treatment were observed.Results:In the evaluation of cognitive function,the Montreal cognitive evaluation in the drug observation group was significantly higher than that of the pre-treatment level(P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the score was significantly increased(P<0.05).The FACT-cog scale scores of the patients in the traditional Chinese medicine observation group were significantly improved after treatment compared with before treatment(P<0.05),and compared with the control group(P<0.05).The scores of TCM syndromes in the observation group after treatment were significantly higher than those before and after treatment in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the quality of life scores between the observation group and the control group before and after treatment(P>0.05).Conclusion:To a certain extent,Chinese medicine for invigorating the kidney and promoting blood circulation can effectively improve the cognitive function decline of breast cancer patients after chemotherapy,but it does not significantly improve the overall quality of life.
