Based on the Ancient and Modern Medical Cases Cloud Platform (V2.1), analyze the medication rules of the famous doctor Qin Bowei's ointment formula, and provide guidance for clinical researches of Qin's ointment formula medication rules and his academic thoughts. Methods:Qin's ointment formula contained in “Qin Bowei's Medical Cases”, “Encyclopedia of Ointment Formula”, “Collection of Qian Zhai's Ointment Formula” and “Selections of Qin Bowei's Ointment Formula” were collected and record in the Ancient and Modern Medical Cases Cloud Platform (V2.1). The medication rule of his ointment formula was analyzed by the software. Results:Through the analysis of 238 prescriptions contained in the book, a total of 17 herbs with a frequency of use for more than 90 times were screened out from the 369 herbs. The drug association analysis showed that the drug combination with higher confidence included “villous amomum fruit-prepared rehmannia root”“tangshen, barbary wolfberry fruit-prepared rehmannia root”“asiatic cornelian cherry fruit-prepared rehmannia root” and so on. The statistics of drug properties and efficacy showed that the character of herb is mainly warm,neutral, sweet, bitter, and spicy, and the channel entry are mainly kidney, liver, and lung, and the efficacy is mainly based on reinforcing liver and kidney. Cluster analysis showed that high-frequency drugs can be specifically divided into four different combinations of functions, and complexed network analysis showed that the core prescription is Guishen Pills and Guipi Pills. Conclusion:Through the data analysis of “Qin Bowei's Medical Cases”, “Encyclopedia of Ointment Formula”, “Collection of Qian Zhai's Ointment Formula” and “Selections of Qin Bowei's Ointment Formula”， the data can be used to guide clinical application and to inherit the medication experience and academic thought of Qin's ointment formula.
