To explore the research hotspot and the dynamic frontier of acupuncture and moxibustion worldwide via the visualization analysis of keyword of all acupuncture and moxibustion literature.Methods:Based on the relevant literatures from 1990 to 2019 included in Science Citation Index Expanded(SCI-E)of web of Science(WOS)，keyword co-occurrence and cluster analysis on keywords in the literature，literature keyword timeline，literature keyword time zone and sudden detection of keyword nodes were performed.And CiteSpace software was used to draw the corresponding visual map.Results:A total of 123 keywords after using parameters were obtained.The top 5 key words in the study were acupuncture，electroacupuncture，pain，randomized controlled trials，stimulation，etc.The difference in the frequency of high-frequency words over time can show the changes and trends in the research process of acupuncture research in different time periods.The research direction of acupuncture in the past 3 years had mainly focused on the role and curative effect of acupuncture on rehabilitation and inflammation.The end of the 20th century was an active period for acupuncture research，and the content of the research had a certain degree of inheritance and connection.In addition，keywords related to electroacupuncture，such as electrical stimulation and electrical nerve stimulation，had a longer emergence time，which also showed the extensive research and application of electroacupuncture in the international context.Conclusion:The application of CiteSpace to visually analyze literature of acupuncture and moxibustion in WOS intuitively indicate the hot spot and trend of acupuncture research in the international scope and then provide direction to explore.The results of this study have relative reference value and research significance.
