Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is a clinicopathological syndrome in which hepatocyte steatosis and fat accumulation occur without a history of excessive drinking.There is no record of the name about “fatty liver” in the ancient literature of Mongolian medicine.Only is there “fat excess”,which is also known as “Tonglaga indigestion disease” or “essence indigestion disease”.With the development of illness,the liver will appear “liver Baoru syndrome” and “liver leakage of water”.Global epidemiological survey shows that the incidence of NAFLD in China is about 15%.Especially in Inner Mongolia,the prevalence of NAFLD may increase significantly in the next decade.Nowadays,the combination of Mongolian and Western medicine is a new trend in clinical treatment.By combining the science and technology of modern medical and the theory of traditional Mongolian medicine,the treatment of chronic NAFLD has a significant effect.Therefore,take the clinical symptoms,etiology and pathogenesis of NAFLD in different stages as the point,contrast all developing stages of NAFLD between Mongolian medicine and modern medicine,to provide objective basis for staging treatment of combination of Mongolian and Western Medicine of NAFLD.
