To observe the efficacy of Sanfu acupoint application combined with Bimin Formula in the prevention and treatment of allergic rhinitis (AR) with pulmonary-qi deficiency and cold type and its effect on serum total IgE，interleukin 4 (IL-4) and IL-17 levels.Methods:From July 2017 to September 2018，a total of 160 patients with AR of pulmonary-qi deficiency and cold type who were diagnosed in Nantong Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected and divided into a control group and an observation group.The observation group was treated with Sanfu acupoint application combined with Bimin Formula，while the control group was treated with Bimin Formula alone.Symptoms，signs，VAS scores，clinical efficacy，and serum total IgE，IL-4 and IL-17 levels were recorded and compared between the 2 groups before treatment (T0)，at the end of treatment (T1)，and 6 months after treatment (T2).Results:After treatment，the symptoms，signs，VAS scores and serum total IgE，IL-4 and IL-17 levels in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group at T1 and T2 (P<0.05).The total effective rate of patients in the observation group at the end of treatment and 6 months after treatment were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion:Sanfu acupoint application combined with Bimin Formula can effectively prevent and treat allergic rhinitis with pulmonary-qi deficiency and cold type，improve allergic constitution，prevent recurrence.Its mechanism may be related to the regulation of Th1/Th2、Th17/Treg balance.It also can significantly improve the quality of life and psychological state of patients，and has good clinical application value.
