To systemically evaluate the clinical efficacy of modified Qingwei Powder in treatment of periodontitis.Methods:All of randomized controlled trials(RCT)about the modified Qingwei powder in treatment of periodontitis were retrieved in PubMed，Cochrane Library，Embase，CNKI，CSPD,CCD from database inception to May 2020.A total of 2 researchers conducted literature screening and data extraction according to inclusion and exclusion criteria.According to the Cochrane quality scoring standard，the quality of the included literature was evaluated，and the RevMan 5.3 software was used for meta-analysis.Results:A total of 12 trials with 962 patients were include，with 491 patients in the control group and 471 patients in the test group.The results showed that compared with the control group，modified Qingwei Powder Formula group can significantly decrease the pocket probing depth [MD=-0.87，95%CI(-1.11 to -0.62)，P<0.000 01]，plaque index[MD=-0.60，95%CI(-0.80 to -0.40)，P<0.000 01]，gingival index[MD=-0.90，95%CI(-1.06 to -0.73)，P<0.000 01]，tooth mobility degree[MD=-0.25，95%CI(-0.41 to -0.08)，P=0.003] and sulcus bleeding index[MD=-0.79，95%CI(-0.99 to -0.58)，P<0.000 01].Conclusion:Modified Qingwei Powder in the treatment of periodontitis is significant and superior to the control group.But in view of the limitations in the quantity and quality of clinical studies，this conclusion still needs to be further verified by more large-scale，multicentric and high-quality randomized controlled trials.
