To use the Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Support System(TCMISS)(V2.5)，the patents of atherosclerosis in the China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI) are analyzed to lay a foundation for the inheritance and development of the experience of traditional Chinese medicine.Methods:In this paper，the author searched anti-atherosclerosis patents on traditional Chinese medicine in the CNKI.This article uses Excel 2010 and the TCMISS(V2.50) to systematically process by the way of the year，region，medicine，category and degree of relevance of the patents application and analyze the results effectively.Results:In this paper，a total of 370 patents involving 780 flavors of drugs were collected，with a cumulative frequency of 3809.The top five drug categories are tonic deficiency drugs(683)，activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis drugs(610)，heat-clearing drugs(221)，relieving superficies medicines(220) and diuretic medicine(169).Chinese medicines with frequency(f)≥ 30 have 23 flavors，which of The top five medicines are Salvia miltiorrhiza Bge.，Crataegus pinnatifida Bunge，stragalus membranaceus(Fisch.) Bunge.，ligusticum chuanxiong hort.，Panax notoginseng..The medicinal properties are mostly warm.The frequency of five flavors is frequent the order is sweet，bitter，and spicy and most of channel tropism are liver，spleen and heart.Conclusion:In China，the condition of atherosclerosis is very serious，but the number of patents for atherosclerosis in traditional Chinese medicines has been declining in recent years.We need to pay more attention to atherosclerosis.The author systematically analyzed the patents of traditional Chinese medicines for the treatment of atherosclerosis and obtained 12 new prescriptions，which provides references for the clinical treatment of atherosclerosis.
