This paper discusses the relationship between chronic atrophic gastritis and yang deficiency from the 4 aspects of pathogenesis，constitution，syndrome type，treatment and medication of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).It holds that Yang deficiency is an important factor in the occurrence and development of chronic atrophic gastritis，which is related to the beginning and end of chronic atrophic gastritis.Attention should be paid to the protection of yang qi in the treatment.In the prevention of chronic atrophic gastritis，we should consider warming yang and activating qi flow to be the basic principle of conditioning，which will have a positive significance for delaying the disease process and preventing transmission.
