This study investigates the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) syndromes of type 2 diabetic kidney disease at stages Ⅲ-Ⅳ and their influencing factors, which is expected to provide a reference for the TCM treatment and prevention of this disease. Methods:The data of 492 patients who met the western medicine diagnostic criteria of stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ diabetic kidney disease were selected and their clinical data and TCM syndrome information were collected.Descriptive statistical analysis, binary logistic regression, association rules analysis,Apriori algorithm, and complex network analysis were employed to analyze the TCM syndromes of the patients and the correlation with gender, age, comorbidity, liver and kidney functions. Results:Most patients demonstrated the syndrome of deficiency in nature and excess in superficiality.Deficiency in nature was mainly manifested as deficiency of both qi and yin and spleen-kidney qi deficiency, and excess in superficiality as blood stasis and phlegm-stasis.Each TCM syndrome had its characteristic influencing factors.Urine microalbumin(mALB),glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c),body mass index(BMI),and glycosylated serum protein(GSP) were common influencing factors in patients with DKD,and the influencing factors of each syndrome were interrelated. Conclusion:Type 2 diabetic kidney disease at stages Ⅲ-Ⅳ is mainly characterized by deficiency of both qi and yin and spleen-kidney qi deficiency, and the symptoms are mainly characterized by blood stasis and phlegm-stasis.Hypertension,coronary heart disease, hyperlipidemia,BMI,mALB,and other indicators are closely related to the TCM syndromes, and there are some differences among the syndromes. The factors influencing each syndrome show certain correlation. The result is expected to serve as a reference for the clinical syndrome differentiation, diagnosis and treatment of DKD.
