Subprostrate sophora is the dry root and rhizomes of Sophora tonkinensis Gagnep.，which is a kind of widely used Chinese medicinal for its multiple pharmacological action including anti-tumor，anti-inflammation，anti-oxidative stress，anti-bacteria，enhancing immunity.Clinically，it can be used to treat tumors，throat inflammation，hepatitis and other diseases.But it's adverse drug reactions are common in reports.In toxicology research，it is founded that subprostrate sophora exerts toxicity on digestive system，nervous system，cardiovascular system and hepatobiliary system.Therefore，this paper summarizes the main active ingredients and toxic components，pharmacological effects，toxic effects and the mechanism of the toxicity of subprostrate sophora in combination with domestic and foreign reports，and provides references for further research on the toxicity of subprostrate sophora and its clinical rational use.
