Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has long-lasting efficacy and low potentiality in inducing adverse reactions in the treatment of constipation compared with western medicine.However,no systemic research on the mechanism is available,and a science-based animal model with the corresponding syndrome is the premise for the exploring the anti-constipation mechanism.Currently available Animal models of TCM syndromes are mainly established with the method of “combining disease and syndrome”.Through literature research,it is found that there are problems such as unclear description of drug dosage,modeling time,and modeling process,and even unreasonable application of the model.In order to summarize and explore the modeling methods of constipation with TCM syndrome,this study summarized the existing modeling methods,modeling process,and model evaluation criteria of constipation with spleen deficiency type,blood deficiency type,yang deficiency type,and fluid deficiency type through literature research.
