Abstract:To observe the effect of contralateral needling combined with herbal fumigation on shoulder-hand syndrome(SHS) after stroke. Methods:A total of 100 patients with SHS after stroke admitted to the Rehabilitation Department of Yuehua Branch of Fangshan Hospital Beijing University of Chinese Medicine from January 2021 to August 2021 were selected as the research objectives. The patients were divided into an experimental group and a control group by envelope simple random method, with 50 patients in each group. The experimental group was treated with contralateral needling therapy combined with herbal fumigation, and the control group was treated with conventional acupuncture combined with herbal fumigation. The pain degree, motor function, and edema degree of the affected upper limbs of patients in the two groups were observed. Results:After treatment, the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) score, hand edema degree score,Fugl-Meyer Assessment(FMA) score, and Barthel Index(BI) score of the two groups were improved(P<0.05).After treatment for 2 and 4 weeks, the VAS score,FMA score, and BI score in the experimental group were better than those in the control group.Compared with the control group, the experimental group obviously improved the pain and edema degree, motor function, and ability of daily living(ADL)(P<0.05) after treatment for 4 weeks. The total effective rates in the experimental group and the control group were 94.0% and 76.0%,respectively(P<0.05).Conclusion:The contralateral needling therapy combined with herbal fumigation relieves the pain and edema degree, and improves motor function and ADL of patients with SHS after stroke.
