This study investigated the characteristics of microcirculatory perfusion of acupoints along the governor vessel in healthy volunteers with or without moxibustion at Mingmen(GV 4),aiming to reveal the biological characteristics of the governor vessel and the mechanism of moxibustion via the laser speckle system. Methods:A total of 19 healthy volunteers at Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were recruited from December 2015 to June 2016 for this study. The PeriCam Perfusion Speckle Imager System was used to investigate skin microcirculatory perfusion along the governor vessel before, during, and after moxibustion(30 min). Results:The microcirculatory perfusion of acupoints along the governor vessel was higher than that along the first side line of the bladder meridian of foot greater yang in the healthy volunteers without moxibustion(P<0.05).After moxibusion at Mingmen(GV 4),the microcirculatory perfusion of acupoints along the governor vessel increased significantly. Conclusion:Microcirculatary perfusion of acupoints along the governor vessel has difference compared with that along the bladder meridian. The moxibustion at Mingmen(GV 4) changes the microcirculatory perfusion of acupoints along the governor vessel.
