| With the proposal of the Belt and Road Initiative and the successful holding of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation,the relationship between China and Africa has become closer.Moreover,the trade exchanges in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) between China and Africa have accelerated,which can be attributed to five advantages:enhanced cooperation supported by policies,the unique advantages of TCM,the unique social development environment of African countries,the trade volume of TCM and other pharmaceutical products in Africa,and the development of Chinese pharmaceutical companies.On the basis of these advantages,we analyzed seven problems:lack of evaluation standards for China-Africa cooperation in TCM,unsound channel construction,differences in medical culture,poor market targeting,unsound TCM education system,fierce market competition,and serious internal problems.We further proposed six measures for strengthening the cooperation between China and African countries in TCM,which included building standard systems,attaching importance to channel construction,promoting TCM culture,researching and developing products targeting the market,cultivating new talents,and creating TCM brands. |
