Oroxylum indicum originated from dry mature seeds of Bignoniaceae plant-Oroxylum indicum(L.) Vent.It is widely distributed in China and contains a variety of active components，including flavonoids，volatile oil，cyclohexanols，pterocarpan，and so on.It has a wide range of pharmacological actions，such as antibacterial，anti-inflammatory，anti-tumor，antioxidant，and antidiabetic effects and is used in the clinical treatment of the respiratory system，digestive system，and other diseases.This paper summarized the research progress of the chemical constituents and pharmacological action of Oroxylum indicum.In addition，based on the core concept of the quality markers(Q-markers) in traditional Chinese medicine，the Q-markers in Oroxylum indicum were predicted and analyzed from the aspects of specificity of chemical constituents，traditional medicinal effects and properties，chemical constituent measurability，clinical uses，and metabolic transformation，so as to provide a basis for studying the quality of Oroxylum indicum.
