Henoch-Schnlein purpura(HSP) nephritis is kidney damage caused by allergic purpura. It is commonly manifested by hematuria, proteinuria, and often accompanied by recurrent infections and swelling of the tonsils.Modern medical research suggests that tonsillectomy is effective in treating HSP nephritis.According to the “throat-kidney correlation” theory in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),tonsil lesions are closely related to changes in HSP nephritis.Cauterization,a widely used therapy in TCM for chronic tonsillitis, can effectively alleviate throat symptoms, eliminate inflammatory responses, and retain the immune regulation and defense functions of the tonsils. Therefore,it is of great significance for the treatment of HSP nephritis.
