Andrias davidianus is a primitive and rare species among the existing amphibians.Ancient historical books and modern research have shown that A.davidianus has both food and medicinal value，and the mucus secreted by its skin has a variety of biological activities.The mucus of A.davidianus mainly includes functional proteins，peptides，and polysaccharides with antioxidant，antibacterial，antifungal，promoting wound healing，anti-platelet aggregation，anti-photoaging，and other activities.Based on the Chinese and English databases，this paper summarized the literature on the composition，biological activity，safety，development，and application of mucus of A.davidianus，aiming to provide references for the research and development of A.davidianus mucus.
