To explore the medication rules of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) prescriptions for treating eczema in children by the application of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Support System(TCMISS，V 2.5)，and to analyze the high-frequency medicines，medication patterns，and treatment ideas.Methods:The articles about the TCM treatment of eczema in children were retrieved from China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)，China Science Periodical Database(CSPD)，and Chinese Citation Database(CCD) with the time interval from 2000 to 2021.The articles screened out were used to establish a prescription database.The improved mutual information method，Apriori algorithm，complex system entropy clustering，and unsupervised entropy clustering in TCMISS(V 2.5) were employed to analyze the medicine frequency，nature，taste，and meridian tropism，medication patterns and rules，and new prescriptions，and the results were visualized in networks.Results:A total of 200 prescriptions were included，involving 206 Chinese medicines.High-frequency medicines included Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma，Dictamni Cortex，Coicis Semen，Poria，Rehmanniae Radix，Lonicerae Japonicae Flos，Cicadae Periostracum，Kochiae Fructus，Saposhnikoviae Radix，Moutan Cortex.Most of the medicines had cold nature(52.76%)，sweet(38.89%)，bitter(33.37%)，and pungent(21.96%) tastes，and tropism to the stomach meridian(1 138)，spleen meridian(1 088)，liver meridian(1 061).The association rules between medicines and 6 new prescriptions were mined out.Conclusion:The eczema in children is mainly treated with tonics，damp-draining diuretics，heat-clearing medicinals，heat-clearing and detoxicating medicinals，and exterior-releasing medicinals.The treatment methods mainly follow the principles of clearing heat and dispersing wind，drying dampness and invigorating spleen，tonifying and activating blood.The results are consistent with expert consensus and can provide a reference for the clinical treatment and drug development for eczema in children.
