Tachyarrhythmia is a complex biophysical phenomenon with high incidence and mortality worldwide. The safety of conventional antiarrhythmics has been questioned, and minimally invasive treatment is difficult to achieve satisfactory results.Chinese medicines can block multiple ion channels and regulate non-ion channels to play an antiarrhythmic role in a multi-channels and multi-target manner. In recent years, the studies about the treatment of arrhythmia with traditional Chinese medicine have been increasing. This paper reviews the classical Chinese medicinal prescriptions for treating tachyarrhythmia, including the mind-tranquillizing agents represented by Suanzaoren Decoction,Chaihu Longgu Muli Decoction, and Anshen Dingzhi Pills; the tonics represented by Zhigancao Decoction,Guipi Decoction,Shengmai Powder, and Xiaojianzhong Decoction; the heat-clearing agents represented by Huanglian Wendan Decoction and Xiexin Decoction; the blood-activating and stasis-resolving agents represented by Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction; liver-soothing agents such as Xiaochaihu Decoction and Xiaoyao Powder; Chinese patent medicines represented by Wenxin Granules and Shensong Yangxin Capsules; and four Chinese herbal medicines:Rhodobryi Rosei Herba,Nardostachyos Radix et Rhizoma,Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, and Nelumbinis Plumula. In addition, the current prescriptions used for treating tachyarrhythmia of different syndromes were briefly reviewed. This review aims to provide a reference for clinical practice.
