Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease caused by multiple factors and falls under the category of “bone impediment” and “Bi syndrome” in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).It is one of the diseases responding specifically to TCM.Although TCM has various methods for treating osteoarthritis and has shown good efficacy, previous western medicine guidelines lacked comprehensive recommendations for TCM due to a lack of high-quality evidence and a lack of understanding between Chinese and western medicine. With the continuous development of standardized diagnosis and treatment and systematic scientific research in recent years, the latest version of the Chinese Guideline for Diagnosis and Treatment of Osteoarthritis(2021 Edition) provides more complete recommendations for TCM approaches.By interpreting the relevant contents on TCM in the Chinese Guideline for Diagnosis and Treatment of Osteoarthritis(2021 Edition),this paper explored the standardized and comprehensive research achievements on TCM included in western medicine guidelines in recent years, aiming to provide references and suggestions for clinical practice and scientific research in the treatment of osteoarthritis.
