To analyze and compare the volatile components of ginger(Rhizoma Zingiberis),asarum(Radixet Rhizoma Asari) and their combination, and provide scientific reference for the follow-up clinical application. Methods:Headspace solid phase microextraction combined with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(HS-SPME-GC-MS) was employed for extracting and analyzing the volatile components of ginger, asarum and their combination. The optimal extraction conditions were determined by single factor method. The relative percentage of each component was calculated by area normalization method and principal component analysis(PCA) was combined for analysis. Results:A total of 78 volatile components were identified from ginger, asarum and their combination.Among them,38 components were identified from ginger, accounting for 95.13% of the total volatile components; 33 were identified from asarum, accounting for 97.69%; 37 were identified from the combination, accounting for 96.31%.The PCA comprehensive scores of the three groups were significantly different, and the combination had the highest score. Conclusion:Ginger, asarum, and their combination vary in the types and contents of volatile components, and after the combination of the two herbal medicines produced new volatile components. These findings facilitate the research on the material basis of herbal combination in playing synergistic and effect-enhancing effects, and provide a scientific basis for further research and clinical application of effective components.
