Fresh herbs are of great clinical value in traditional Chinese medicine, especially in acute, febrile, and skin diseases.Contemporary pharmacological studies have shown that fresh traditional Chinese medicine is more complete than concocted products in terms of preserving the active ingredients and preventing the destruction or loss of its own structure.Due to the remarkable curative effect of fresh herbs in clinical use,in this paper, the commonly used traditional Chinese medicine, namely fresh purslane, was taken as an example.Through the summary of ancient books, modern clinical applications, and mechanism research, the paper aims to provide some theoretical support for the future development, clinical application, and promotion of fresh medicine preparation.
