Statistical analysis was conducted on prescription medication rules of internal and external treatment of androgenetic alopecia(AGA)，providing theoretical basis for clinical treatment of AGA.Methods:The Chinese medicine literature related to AGA until February 18，2022 was retrieved from China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)，China Biology Medicine(CBM)Database，Chinese Science Periodical Database(CSPD) and Chinese Citation Database(CCD) by computer.IBM SPSS Modeler，IBM SPSS Statistics 26.0 and other software were used for association rules，systematic clustering and medication rules of TCM data.Results:A total of 183 literatures were screened，including 178 prescriptions for internal use，56 prescriptions for external use，comprising 188 types of single herb for internal use and 124 types of single herb for external use.The top three prescriptions of single herbs were Polygonum multiflorum，Poria cocos，and Salvia miltiorrhiza.Statistical analysis of property，taste and meridians showed that the majority were cold in nature，sweet in flavor and belonged to liver meridian.In efficacy analysis，most drugs were tonic drugs.Association rule analysis revealed common herb pairs were Yerbadetajo Herb and Fructus Ligustri Lucidi，and clustering analysis yielded four core internal medicine prescriptions.The top three frequently used single external use drugs were Polygonum multiflorum，Platycladus orientalis and Sophora flavescens. Statistical analysis of property，taste and meridians showed that the majoritywere warm in nature，bitter in taste and belonged to the liver meridian.In efficacy analysis，most drugs were heat-relieving drugs.Association rule analysis revealed that common herb pairs were Yerbadetajo Herb and Fructus Ligustri Lucidi.Clustering analysis yielded two core external medicine prescriptions.Conclusion:In the treatment of AGA，the traditional Chinese medicines are mainly tonifying drugs and invigorating drugs，with properties mainly sweet and cold，and belonging to the liver and spleen meridians.The external Traditional Chinese medicine treatment mainly consists of heat clearing and surface relieving，with property and taste mainly bitter and warm，and belonging to the liver and lung meridians，providing reference for clinical use.
