To explore the effect and mechanism of percutaneous acupoint electrical stimulation on the oocyte quality and follicle-stimulating hormone receptor(FSHR) in the patients with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS).Methods:The PCOS patients with the syndrome of phlegm dampness treated in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Center of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from October 2020 to September 2021 were enrolled in this study. The patients were assigned by the random number table method into an observation group(percutaneous acupoint electrical stimulation combined with Western medicine) and control group(sham acupuncture combined with Western medicine),with 50 patients in each group. In addition,50 patients who underwent in-vitro fertilization(IVF) due to male reasons were selected as the normal group(Western medicine). The scores of TCM symptoms, differences in the scores, total level of gonadotropin(Gn),oocyte retrieval number, level of single oocyte estrogen,high-quality oocyte rate, fertilization rate,high-quality embryo rate, clinical pregnancy rate, and the expression of FSHR in the Kiss1R system of ovarian granulosa cells on the day of oocyte retrieval were determined before and after treatment in the three groups. Results:Compared with the control group, the observation group showed improvement in terms of the TCM symptom scores and score differences(P<0.05),no significant differences in total Gn,high-quality embryo rate,or clinical pregnancy rate(P>0.05),and differences in the levels of single oocyte estrogen, oocyte retrieval number,high-quality oocyte rate, and fertilization rate(P<0.05).In addition, the expression level of FSHR in granulosa cells in the observation group was up-regulated compared with that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Percutaneous acupoint electrical stimulation may improve the oocyte quality by up-regulating the expression of FSHR and the microenvironment and promote the cell proliferation in the PCOS patients.
