Mitochondrial quality control(MQC) refers to the cellular mechanisms that maintain the stability of mitochondrial function and structure, preventing mitochondrial dysfunction that could lead to metabolic disturbances and oxidative stress.MQC involves processes such as mitochondrial biogenesis, dynamics, oxidative stress, and autophagy. The dysregulation of MQC is closely linked to the onset and progression of various diseases, including but not limited to metabolic disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, and cardiovascular diseases.Mitochondrial function plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis and progression of gouty arthritis(GA).Mitochondrial dysfunction, when exacerbated by defective quality control mechanisms, accelerates the onset and progression of GA.
